I am working on behalf of Clacton based Primary school who are recruiting an EYFS teacher to lead their pre-school class and team for the remainder of this academic year, with the potential of being offered a permanent position at the school for the new academic year.
The school have a dedicated building and outdoor space for their 24 3-4 year olds, who attend the school for a mixture of half and full days. You will become part of the EYFS team, being supported by two full time, level 3 qualified Nursery Nurses, and the Reception teacher/EYFS lead. The classroom is vibrant and engaging and children have access to their outdoor space throughout the school day. You also have access to the school playground, playing field and school hall where the children will eat their lunch.
The school day runs from 8:30-3:30, with the morning session being 8:30-11:30 and the afternoon session being 12:30-3:30. This is a term-time only role.
Your duties will include managing your team, and along with them managing the classroom and behaviours. Planning lessons and learning activities, conducting observations and updating the children’s records (Tapestry).
A high percentage of the children in the class have siblings in the school and so will be continuing their education at the setting. This means there will be some transition days for the children to attend.
The ideal Teacher, you will:
- Have experience teaching EYFS
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have either UK or UK ENIC recognised Teaching Qualifications plus UK experience

Therefore, wherever possible will pay to scale ensuring that we meet Agency Worker Regulations after 12 weeks with a school. You receive your pay a week in arrears, receiving an online payslip with a weekly pay showing your HMRC deductions and holiday pay breakdown.
