The Role:

Daily Rate: £75

We are currently working with a hugely popular primary school in South Woodham Ferrers who are looking for an LSA to join their team from September.

They are looking for an Early Years LSA to work on a 1:1 basis with a child transitioning from Pre School into reception class in September.

The child is very calm and sweet natured and not aggressive in any way. The child is non-verbal, therefore he needs someone who can implement picture communication and basic Makaton to encourage communication. He would benefit from use of hand over hand techniques to encourage more varied play. Overall he requires someone who will take the time to connect with him to get the best from him and support his progress.

You will assist in supporting differentiated teaching and learning as well as implementing a Personal Care Plan. Experience of supporting children in Early Years would be very beneficial.

You will be working both outside and within the mainstream class to provide an individual and tailored lesson/activity. This child does have an EHCP and has additional curriculum activities which are specific to the child’s individual needs.

Your main responsibilities will include working on a 1:1 basis to provide personalised support, working 1:1 allows for very individual support.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be liaising with the class teacher, SENDCO and if applicable, other professionals to ensure the child you are working with has the best possible opportunity to learn and grow in confidence.

The position is Full- time 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday-Friday term time only.

You will need to have the following:

  • Experience of Early Years
  • Autism experience
  • Calm and patient demeanour
  • DBS or willing to have one

You will have a choice of how you would like to be paid, including our PAYE with no weekly fee’s or employers tax costs passed onto you. We pay fairly and transparently, and wherever possible will pay to scale ensuring that we meet Agency Worker Regulations after 12 weeks with a school. You are paid weekly in arrears, receiving an online payslip with a weekly pay showing your HMRC deductions and holiday pay breakdown.
