A client school based in Ipswich are looking for a teacher to join them for the new academic year. The position is to work fulltime, in an SEN school for children with an EHCP for SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. SEMH needs are a type of special educational needs in which children/young people have severe difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviour. They often show inappropriate responses and feelings to situations.
The job role…
The schools aim is that every child has access to the best possible opportunity to gain an education, social and life skills, as well as benefit from non curriculum-based lessons.
As the teacher and class lead you will need to be calm, patient and resilient in your approach and show empathy, understanding and encouragement towards the children in order to be able to reignite a passion to achieve their individual goals. You will be part of the school team and be managing, instructing and liaising with the students dedicated LSAs to ensure their needs are being met. You will be planning and differentiating the lessons to the individual needs of the pupils in your class, liaising with other professionals and record keeping.
What you need…
QTS and previous experience of working with children who have SEMH is essential for this role (additional and ongoing CPD and training will be provided). This position would be ideal for someone who is confident in their abilities to build rapport with disengaged pupils, with a forward thinking and adaptable approach to teaching.
This is a full-time, permanent position, offering up to £40,000.00 per year.
To be successfully appointed in this role you will need to have eligibility to work within the UK and have a valid Enhanced DBS.
