I am recruiting on behalf of a SEND school based a short commute from Halstead who are looking for a qualified teacher to join their team from September 2022.

The position is to work full time, with KS3/KS4 aged students who have an EHCP for SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. SEMH needs are a type of special educational need in which children/young people can have difficulties in regulating their emotions and behaviour. They often show inappropriate responses and feelings to situations. The schools aim is that every young person has access to the best possible opportunity to gain an education, social and life skills, as well as benefit from non curriculum-based lessons.

The job role…

As the teacher and class lead you will need to be calm, patient and resilient in your approach. Showing empathy, understanding and encouragement towards the young people at the school in order to be able to reignite a passion to achieve their individual goals. You will be part of the school team and be managing, instructing and liaising with the students dedicated LSAs to ensure their needs are being met. You will be planning and differentiating the lessons to the individual needs of the pupils in your class, liaising with other professionals and record keeping.

What you need…

The ideal applicant would have previous experience of working with young people aged 11-16, who have been identified with SEMH needs. However experience in one of these areas and/or supporting other SEND, especially needs where behaviours that challenge were a development focus, would be considered. Additional and ongoing CPD and training will be provided.

QTS is essential for this role .

This position would be ideal for someone who is confident in their abilities to build rapport with disengaged pupils, with a forward thinking and adaptable approach to teaching.

To be successfully appointed in this role you will need to have eligibility to work within the UK and have a valid Enhanced DBS.

You will have a dedicated local consultant who has an in depth understanding of the schools in your area, supported by a fantastic team who are here to meet your needs every step of the way. 4myschools operates a full out of hours service and our office is open from 7am to 5:30pm.

We will always treat you as a valued member of the 4myschools team.  You will have a choice of how you would like to be paid, including our PAYE with no weekly fees or employers tax costs passed onto you. We pay fairly and transparently, and wherever possible will pay to scale ensuring that we meet Agency Worker Regulations after 12 weeks with a school.  You are paid weekly in arrears, receiving an online payslip with a weekly pay showing your HMRC deductions and holiday pay breakdown.

Pay for this role is £120 per day, with long-term pay opportunities ranging between £131-£189 per day.
